Richmond delivery details

Richmond summers are hot and humid, and the region's clay soil holds water — so we recommend placing your container on gravel or the highest firm ground, especially near the James River floodplain or low-lying Fan District blocks. Hurricane-season downpours are the real test, and our used wind & watertight units are inspected for sealed doors and intact roofs. Suburban lots in Henrico and Chesterfield are generally straightforward for tilt-bed access; older city alleys need a quick access check.

Richmond shipping container FAQs

New or used for the Richmond climate?

For storage and job sites, used wind & watertight is the smart value — it keeps out Richmond's humidity and storm rain. New one-trip is worth it for visible commercial locations or if you're finishing the interior.

Do you deliver to Richmond from Norfolk?

Yes. Our Norfolk, VA depot serves the Richmond metro — the Fan, the Museum District, Henrico, Midlothian, Glen Allen, Mechanicsville, and beyond. Your quote includes delivery to your ZIP.

Does the container need a foundation on clay soil?

No foundation needed — containers rest on their corner castings. Because Richmond clay shifts with moisture, a gravel pad keeps the box level and the doors swinging true through wet and dry seasons.
